Mthokozisi Swotwa Wins WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Award
Bethesda Health Care is celebrating the outstanding achievements of MPaCCS Clinical Nurse Mthokozisi Swotwa, who received the Excellence in Residential Care Award at the 2026 WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards in May.
The award recognises Tho’s exceptional contribution to patient care and leadership in residential and palliative care services, and highlights the compassionate, person-centred approach she brings to her work every day.
The recognition marks Tho’s second major award in the past 12 months. In 2025, she was also named Emerging Leader at the WA Palliative Care Awards, acknowledging her growing impact and leadership within the sector.
Tho is a valued member of Bethesda’s MPaCCS team, where she is known for her dedication to supporting patients and families with empathy, professionalism and clinical excellence.
Bethesda Chief Executive Officer Dr Neale Fong congratulated Tho on the achievement, describing the recognition as a reflection of both her commitment to high-quality care and the important work of the organisation’s palliative care teams.
The WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards celebrate outstanding nurses and midwives across the state who demonstrate leadership, innovation and excellence in patient care. Bethesda is proud to be a sponsor of the awards.
