Always Part of the Community

Our story began more than 80 years ago with Matron Beryl Hill.

In 1943, Matron Beryl Hill returned from missionary service in the Himalayan Mountains with a calling to establish a place of medical and spiritual care for vulnerable community members. Committed to this calling, she developed a partnership with a local church, Subiaco Church of Christ, who shared her passion for helping the vulnerable.

With the church's support, a small community Hospital with 14 beds was established in Subiaco - it was later renamed 'Bethesda' and relocated to Claremont.

Today, the community spirit and sense of purpose has remained with those who are associated with Bethesda. We are a modern, vibrant healthcare community, with a reputation for exceptional quality and personalised care.
